I absolutely love stand-up comedy, this is one of my favourite forms of entertainment, but every time I decide to watch it I have a problem picking up the performer and the stand-up special. I usually forget the name (because they are just so many good stand-up’s out there) and then I have a problem remembering the actual name of the special. So I have created this list as a reminded and a quick referral to those comedians and name’s of the specials worth checking out. Just to let you know that the list is of stand-up’s who are not very mainstream and if you’re not proper in to stand-up you may have never heard of them. So don’t expect to get some obvious entries like Dave Chappell, Richard Pryor or George Carlin.

Also keep in mind that the numbers are only for a guidance, all the comedians are hilarious and are worth watching.  Keep in mind that some of the comedians are politically incorrect (but that’s one of the reasons to like stand-up right? 🙂 ) and use naughty language so don’t watch them with your kids or younger relatives. 😀

I will post the name of the comedian, some information about them and there stand-up’s.

Let’s go.

#1 Bill Burr – he’s type of comedy if not for the weak hearted, very politically incorrect and kind of offensive to a lot of people. If you are thick-skinned and not easily offended (like me 😀 ) you will like he’s bitter style of comedy. Just make sure you’re kids are not around.

#2 Kevin Bridges – A young Scottish comedian that not many people have heard of outside of the UK (I guess). He’s two specials are definitely worth watching. If you’re living outside of the UK you may have a bit of trouble understanding what he says, because he has a very thick Scottish accent. If you manage to understand what he’s talking about you will love it.

#3 Dylan Moran – He looks weird and talks awkward, I’m not sure if this is just and act when he performs or he’s like this in real life. Absolute randomness when he’s on stage, but he manages to do it so well. Mostly talking about Ireland, Irish people and the UK in general.

#4 Jim Gaffigan – Mostly (80%-90%) talks about food, and as a food lover what more do you need from a comedian right? 😀 He’s mellow, uses the word bacon (pronounced in a funny voice) a lot and really funny. Go check him out, but make sure you have finished eating otherwise he will make you hungry with all that description of food that he uses.

#5 Patton Oswalt – he’s comedy is mostly talking about family and the strange everyday situations that he’s involved in. I wouldn’t say that he’s offensive or curses a lot. If you’re in the mood for a bit of light comedy he’s you’re guy.

#6 Jim Jefferies – ok so I left the bit more nasty and offensive comedians for last, Jefferies come’s out with this energy and vibe that he want’s to make fun of everything and offend as much as possible and that’s why he’s funny. Saying stuff that you don’t dare to think, he pushes the norm and challenges the views of society. And in 1 of  he’s specials I’ve heard the most offensive joke toward women that I’ve ever hurt. And keep in mind that I have watched a ton of stand-up.

#7 Daniel Tosh – I left the 2 most known names in this list for last. Since the huge success of he’s show Tosh.0 he became a comedy celebrity. He’s style of comedy is proper offensive, but he doe’s it with a smile on he’s face while laughing.

#8 Louis CK – A lot of people may be surprised why CK is at the bottom of the list? Leaving the best for last. He became quite famous few years ago via YouTube since he’s stand-up launched him in to the mainstream media. Called the best comedian of our modern days you definitely need to check him out.
